COVID-19 Update Apr 20, 2021: Updated Vaccine Eligibility

April 20, 2021

COVID-19-Blog

Hello everyone,

I am pleased to report that there are no outbreaks at any Seasons Retirement Community.  This is excellent news considering that case counts in the general community are on the rise.  Thank you to our staff, residents and families for being cautious and for continuing to follow our enhanced infection prevention and control protocols.  The collective health of our retirement community members relies on you.

ALBERTA

As I noted last week, Designated Essential Visitors in Alberta are eligible to register for a vaccine as part of the phase 2C rollout.  For details, please visit their website.

We continue to use the Risk Assessment tool to guide protocols and restrictions in our retirement homes in Alberta.  If there is the transmission of COVID-19 in the local community, that will indicate a greater risk to our residents, and therefore we will be firm in enforcing safety protocols. For an update on the status in Alberta, you can visit this their website.

ONTARIO

Designated Essential Visitors are also eligible for the vaccine in Ontario as part of Phase 2.  For details, please visit their website.

As you are aware, Ontario is in the midst of a strict stay-at-home order, which strongly discourages travel outside of one’s region.  When considering a visit to Seasons, please review the current provincial guidelines for all Ontarians, as well as the policies and procedures under the ‘Grey (Lockdown) or Shutdown’ column in the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority’s Scenario Matrix, found here.

Residents and families, if you haven’t yet signed up for Cubigo, I strongly encourage you to do so!  Cubigo is an excellent way for our residents to stay connected and participate in the safe yet fun activities our team members have planned for them.  You can also follow us on social media for updates and invitations to our monthly webinar series, Seasons Speaks. To watch past recordings, you can visit the Seasons Retirement Communities YouTube channel.

Whether you live or work with us at Seasons, our number one priority is your health and safety.  Thank you all for your continued patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

LeighAnne Voll
