COVID-19 Update Jan 17, 2021: Seasons Olds Outbreak Declared Over

January 17, 2021

COVID-19-Blog

Hello everyone,

I am pleased to announce that Communicable Disease Control (CDC) has officially declared the outbreak to be over. Thank you, Seasons Olds Team Members, for your commitment and vigilance in managing this situation. Residents and families, thank you for your cooperation and support throughout the outbreak.

In other good news, we hosted a successful vaccination clinic for our Independent Living and condo residents today. This is an important step to protecting our vulnerable population.

While we are thankful that the outbreak is over and first-round vaccinations have taken place, our work fighting COVID-19 is not. The province may be loosening restrictions but we must continue to be cautious and practise good infection prevention and control measures. Full vaccine efficacy and immunity does not happen until after the second dose.

In the meantime, residents, please continue to wear a mask when you are in the common areas of our home, practice good hand hygiene and physical distancing measures at all times. Staff, residents and families I implore you, please maintain your vigilance. We just got out of outbreak, we do not want to experience another one.

Sincerely,

LeighAnne Voll
