COVID-19 Update Apr 6, 2020: A Little Extra Love Campaign

April 6, 2020

COVID-19-Blog

We are entering week two of our company-wide suite isolation. Many residents and families have expressed their gratitude for the implementation of this heightened precautionary protocol. We know this isn’t easy, but we thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we do what we feel is best for the protection of our staff and residents. We will be consulting Public Health, considering directives from our provincial governments and regulators, and seeking the input of our residents and team members to determine whether or not we extend this isolation period beyond the fourteen days.

We know isolation can be difficult, so we are working hard to ensure residents remain engaged and connected. We will continue to provide activities that are self-directed or one-on-one with our staff, or programming where residents can safely participate from their open doorway or by telephone.

This week we launched our “A Little Extra Love Notes” campaign on social media. We call the cards and letters our residents and families give us ‘Love Notes’. While these words of support and encouragement are always welcome, they are especially treasured right now. We are asking the public to send cards, notes and artwork to brighten the day of our staff and residents. We will be sure to share them in our homes and on social media for all to see.

Experts are telling us that gratitude is a positive way of coping with the stress of these uncertain times. Despite the challenges the Canadian healthcare system is facing, we have witnessed many acts of kindness these past few weeks and I would like to express my appreciation on behalf of Seasons.

Thank you to all the families who have come up with safe, creative ways to stay in touch with their loved ones, including dropping off essentials* and treats to our residents.

Thank you for the kind cards, messages and generosity you have shown our team members. It means a lot.

Thank you to our dedicated Seasons team members. We see the photos and hear the stories of how you are continuing to deliver meaningful moments to our residents, even during these challenging times.

And finally, whether you work or live with us, thank you all for the trust you have placed in Seasons. We take our responsibility to our staff and residents very seriously. We will get through this together.

Sincerely,

LeighAnne Voll,
Chief Operating Officer
